Here is another website that you may find interesting if you have questions about
neuropathy. As I said the other day, neuropathy means that a person has suffered nerve damage either due to trauma, toxins, or complications from diabetes. If you or someone you know has experienced problems with numbness or tingling in extremities, it is important to speak with your physician about this. The tingling can be annoying. The numbness can mean that you are injured, but you might be unaware of the injury because you can't feel the pain.
I got up about 7:30 this morning when my hubby called for our daily morning chat. Then I spent the morning getting ready for the afternoon, feeding the dogs, taking a shower, writing a check to cash, making a list of things I needed to do...you know the drill. Then this afternoon, we did our recycling, ran by the bank to get out money for our vacation (we leave Friday), took the kids to piano and went to Walmart to pick up a couple of items and fill a prescription, then stopped by Joe Beans and the post office on the way home.

Why is it that children cannot keep their hands and fingers off of glass windows, doors and mirrors? What is it about sparkling glass that attracts their fingers? Is it just like the fact that nature abhors a vacuum? Children abhor a clean window? Or is it that the clean window abhors being clean? Does it send out a message that only children can hear that commands them to come and put their hands here and here and here?
My daughter loves to work around in the kitchen. She is always wanting to mix things together and see how it turns out.

I homeschool my two children and we have been studying about the body this past year. We studied each of the body's systems (circulatory, respiratory, nervous) and it is amazing how all of our parts work together. The things that go on inside of our bodies without our conscious thought or control that help us to get through each and every day is simply astounding. One aspect that fascinated the children was the nervous system and how fast the messages fly from your body to your brain and back so that you know stuff such as 'ouch, that's hot' or 'hey, I've been hurt'. We learned that damage can occur to the peripheral nervous system and that is called
peripheral neuropathy. Simply put, this means that your nervous system has become damaged in some way. Either by trauma or injury or due to toxins or disease (like Diabetes). Instead of telling you that you have been hurt, you might get the wrong message that all is well. This can cause problems for people if they are injured and don't take care of the wound properly. Or your nerves may be overactive and tell you that you are in pain when you aren't. Our bodies are amazing and intricate. What affects one part tends to affect all to some degree. That's why it is so important to take the best care of yourself that you can.
The yard is mowed and we are all ready for our company that is coming this weekend. We should have lovely weather for our cookout tomorrow. We are very happy about that!

Didn't get to mow on Sunday after all, well at least not much. From out of nowhere, rain came Saturday night. Not once, not twice, but three times. GRRR! So the kids and I went to see Night in the Museum instead. It was pretty good. Basically the same jokes as the first movie, but still fun (though not quite as magical - an idea is only truly magical the first time around, I think). I did mow a tad Sunday evening and had to empty the grass bag two times! And I've got a lot more to mow! Would have mowed more, but Dad called, so I talked to him instead.

Finally, a day without rain. The rain has been good and I know the plants can all use it, but it is nice to have a pretty, sunny day today. Of course a lot of rain followed by a lot of sun means only one thing....tall grass. It is the end of May and as yet, we haven't mowed this season. My hubby works out of town most of the time, so this chore is left to me. It is not one I like and with a bad knee, it isn't particularly fun. But the time has come...the grass is now 3-4 feet tall (no, I am not kidding!) So today, the grass gets to dry out and tomorrow, after church, we will clean up the sticks, rocks and toys that the pooches have spread across the yard and we will mow, mow, mow.... Just in time for the visit with the in-laws next week.
Hope you are having a great weekend!
The name Tragic Weasel makes me feel like this is a great place to share my deepest, most depressing thoughts of the day. You know, kind of a place for one of my split personalities to hang out at. I can spew out my unhappiness, then I can lock it away here and get on with my life. But the name Tragic Weasel is also kind of funny. As I said in my first post, what the heck is tragic about a weasel. So maybe sometimes, I'll throw in some happy thoughts just for kicks.
